"Allegedly", Hate that word ! When they're arrested, it's a done deal. Now it's up to the Court System to do the right thing, or do they 'allegedly' throw them in jail ?

"Innocent until proven guilty" is why they say allegedly. Everyone has a right to fair trial in America. Think about all of the people wrongfully arrested. They "allegedly" did what they were arrested for and with due process, they proved otherwise.
Don't like innocent until proven guilty? Get out of America then. I'm sure Saudi Arabia would love your ideas!

All news organizations have to say "allegedly" because until anyone is proven to be guilty in a court of law, they are allegedly (read that "possibly") a criminal. Zoobie, how would you like it if we took a photo of one of you or on eof your loved ones and wrote: "This is Mr. Irving X who is a child molester." And, as it turns out, Mr. X is not found guilty. What we just did was commit what is known in legal circles is known as libel (slander is the same thing but it is the spoken version as opposed to the printed version) and we could be prosecuted criminally and civilly for that offense. So, until and UNLESS a guilty verdict is reached, one must say "allegedly".

Gentleman, if I may I will take issue with the preceding comets based on crime is news and Patch is a news organization. It is common practice to use arrest photos in news stories.
Does it provide a positive aspect, possibility if the photo jogs the memory of another crime victim or one that can provide additional evidence.
Patch relies on reader interaction and I doubt the flower of the week would draw much in the way of comments.
These photos are like car crashes, everyone will stop and take a look. The term is referred to as rubbernecking

I like the idea of posting the photo of the detainees for several reasons. 1) though a long shot, the photo of themselves in a less than Vogue pose displayed for all to see may embarrass them into straightening out if the are not already hardened. 2) like Buzz said, it may jog the memory of a past victim or witness to a crime, after all most of these people are repeat offenders. I would just hope that Patch uses some discretion in not making an attempt to destroy someone for a minor indiscretion in their otherwise law abiding life. Most of these guys above have inflicted pain on society, so why not let society inflict a little pain back on them. 3) It's fun to make fun of them...Tee hee hee!. This has got to be the best punishment. I know these guys aren't proven guilty yet, but didn't America's early justice system chain prisoners in front of the court house so that society could throw rotten tomatoes at them. Those must have been good ole days.

This, fiscally speaking.
He and his pledge are the reason compromises on our nation's fiscal future aren't met.
Just today, President Obama said he was willing to "cut $2.50 in spending, for every $1 in revenue raised via taxes".
I'll try and find a source, but I heard it this morning on satillite radio (POTUS).
here we go:
http://thehill.com/video/administration/248335-obama-more-than-happy-to-work-with-republicans-on-deficit-deal
2.5 to 1? That's essentially 71% spending cuts do 29% revenue/tax increases.
Anyone who can't agree to this type of formula for reducing our national debt simply isn't rational in my view.
Tim
3:17 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012
In fact, this type of spending reduction he's agreed to would make tax and spend liberals like O'Malley cringe. Could you imagine if O'Malley had to accept this?
Joe
4:51 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012

Cuts are not making Governor Cuomo cringe. He is fighting the unions and cutting spending.
Tim
5:04 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012
So Joe, your counterargument to this is simply "well Obama is lying", and taking a quote from 2008, before he even was technically President.
Besides, it's not like the previous administrations policies 'worked'. Unless you call reckless war spending (money, and lives ruined) and bad tax cuts when the economy was healthy good working policies.
Besides, you want to talk about lying and flipping? Please, look at your own candidates with an objective eye sometime - hard as that may be.
The real issue with this Democrat side, is although President Obama probably would follow through with it, he'd be just as likely to get his party to agree with it as Boehner would getting the Republicans to break their blood oath on increased taxation.
Both sides are fundamentally broken. I do think Obama is trying, in this particular aspect, though. I also think Boehner did...but much like Obama, his hands are also tied by his radical kooks.

Obama said more than once he is a Muslim. One NEVER NEVER NEVER mistakes their own faith. Here is an excellent series of articles on just this subject of Obama being a Muslim.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/sep/7/obama-i-have-never-been-a-muslim/
"Middle East and Islam specialist Daniel Pipes begins his inquiry into Barack Obama’s early Muslim connections by noting the president’s autobiographical inaccuracies. A focus on openness and honesty is likely to hurt Mr. Obama far more than Mr. Romney. Mr. Obama remains the mystery candidate with an autobiography full of gaps and even fabrications. For example, to sell his autobiography in 1991, Mr. Obama claimed that he “was born in Kenya.” He lied about never having been a member and candidate of the 1990s Chicago socialist New Party. When Stanley Kurtz produced evidence to establish that he was a member, Mr. Obama’s flacks smeared and dismissed Mr. Kurtz. Mr. Obama’s 1995 autobiography, “Dreams from My Father,” contains a torrent of inaccuracies and falsehoods about his maternal grandfather, his father, his mother, his parents’ wedding, his stepfather’s father, his high school friend, his girlfriend, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. As Victor Davis Hanson put it, “If a writer will fabricate the details about his own mother’s terminal illness and quest for insurance, then he will probably fudge on anything.”
Joe
3:06 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012
"Into this larger pattern of mendacity about his past life arises the question of Mr. Obama’s discussion of his faith, perhaps the most singular and outrageous of his lies.
Asked about the religion of his childhood and youth, Mr. Obama offers contradictory answers. He finessed a March 2004 question, “Have you always been a Christian?” by replying: “I was raised more by my mother and my mother was Christian.” But in December 2007, he belatedly decided to give a straight answer: “My mother was a Christian from Kansas. I was raised by my mother. So, I’ve always been a Christian.” In February 2009, however, he offered a completely different account:
“I was not raised in a particularly religious household. I had a father who was born a Muslim but became an atheist, grandparents who were non-practicing Methodists and Baptists, and a mother who was skeptical of organized religion. I didn’t become a Christian until I moved to the South Side of Chicago after college.”
He further elaborated on this answer in September 2010, saying, “I came to my Christian faith later in life. Which is it? Has Mr. Obama “always been a Christian” or did he “become a Christian” after college?"
Joe
3:07 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012
"Self-contradiction on so fundamental a matter of identity, when added to the general questioning about the accuracy of his autobiography, raises questions about veracity. Would someone telling the truth say such varied and opposite things about himself? Inconsistency is typical of fabrication: When making things up, it’s hard to stick with the same story. Was he the areligious child of irreligious parents? Or was he always a Christian? A Muslim? Or was he, in fact, something of his own creation — a Christian Muslim? Mr. Obama provides some information on his Islamic background in his two books, “Dreams from My Father” and “The Audacity of Hope” (2006). In 2007, when Hillary Rodham Clinton was still the favored Democratic candidate for president, a number of reporters dug up information about Mr. Obama’s time in Indonesia. His statements as president have provided important insights into his mentality. The major biographies of Mr. Obama, however, whether friendly (such as those by David Maraniss, David Mendell and David Remnick) or hostile (such as those by Jack Cashill, Jerome R. Corsi, Dinesh D’Souza, Aaron Klein, Edward Klein and Stanley Kurtz), devote little attention to this topic. I shall establish his having been born and raised a Muslim, provide confirming evidence from recent years, survey the perceptions of him as a Muslim, and place this deception in the larger context of Mr. Obama’s autobiographical fictions."

Religion is not about "cut and paste" birther comments. I used it as an illustration of pandering to whoever he needs to in order too stay in power. Notice his comments about Iran.
He did the same thing on the immigration issue. It seems OK to make an issue over Romney's faith but at least he stands up for it. The presidents decries the 1% but has his hand out all the time for their %.
The one thing he is good at is pandering depending on the particular need at the time.
