One Hospitalized After Fire Truck Strikes Vehicle
Emergency vehicles responded after a fire truck struck a car on Osler Drive.

Update (3:33 p.m.): Osler Drive was closed Monday afternoon as police investigated a crash involving a fire truck.
Truck 1, based at the Towson Fire Station, struck a red Mitsubishi Mirage on Osler Drive, near South Auburn Drive, around 2:27 p.m., police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher said.
One man, the driver, was transported by ambulance to Sinai Hospital. He was conscious when crews extracted him from the car.
Rogers-Feher said both vehicles were traveling south. The fire truck was headed to the scene of a fire in the left lane; the Mirage was in the right lane. The Mirage's driver then attempted to make a U-turn around the fire truck and was struck. Both vehicles veered toward the northbound lanes. The car could be seen on the side of northbound Osler Drive shortly after the accident.
Noone on the fire truck was injured.

Because he was a trauma patient, Rogers-Feher told me, and such patients are more likely to be transported to hospitals that specialize in that, like Sinai or Hopkins.

The idiot in the red car needs to loose the license and re-take a driver's ed class or just take a bus. What person in their right mind would do something THAT stupid!!!

I am glad the fireman are all ok I work in Towson and they are true heroes. They always look like they drive so careful. God Bless them.

The Baltimore County Fire Department has a stricf rule that all personnel (paid or volunteer) must be belted when the equipment is in motion.

Whatever happenend to: pull over and stop & yield to on coming emergency equipment?
Are drivers really aware of the laws enough to drive? Apparently some don't have a clue.
