Kamenetz to Celebrate New CVP

The county executive will cut the ribbon on the rebuilt bar, which opened last month.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will mark the reopening of Charles Village Pub in a ceremony Thursday.

Kamenetz will be joined by the pub's owners—Rick Bielski and Eric and Melony Wagner—and Nancy Hafford, executive director of the Towson Chamber of Commerce, for the grand opening at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The original Charles Village Pub, long a popular haunt for office workers, county employees, sports fans, families and college students, burned down last year. The new pub opened last month, boasting a roomier feel, new patio, revamped menu and expanded draft list.

Hey Tyler! Why wasn't the County Councilman who actually represents Downtown Towson, David Marks, involved in the grand re-opening? Marks should be cutting the ribbon. He works hard to keep Towson mving on a forward track - not Kamenetz. Another juvenile snub from Kamenetz? What gives?

Hi Bart,

Marks may well be there for it. The release, however, just says Kamenetz, Hafford and the owners.

Thanks Tyler, It would look might fishy if KK elbowed out the real Councilman of Towson.

So the question is: Did CVP owners invite the County Executive? Or did the CE initiate the ribbon cutting in the Councilman's back yard as another snub to him?

The county executive..... This guy cannot pass up the opportunity for the light, camera and action. Its too bad that he isn't doing something more important. It appears that Councilman David Marks may be doing something better with his time by meeting with the president of Towson University.

I think KK is still steamed at being "booed" at the opening ceremonies of The Towson Festival, while Marks received a round of applause and cheers when he was introduced. I understand KK was also given the Bronx cheer at the recent Baltimore County Licensed Beverage Association function.

Every Council office did receive notification. I couldn't attend, but my aide was recognized warmly by the County Executive.
