Man Allegedly Kidnaps Girlfriend, Drives Her to Baltimore
The woman escaped from the vehicle while it was parked.
A Lochearn man allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend from her Parkville home on Monday and drove her to Baltimore.
Between 1 and 1:20 p.m., Jeffrey Nathaniel McCrea, 27, forced his girlfriend into a white Ford van near her apartment in the 6600 block of English Oak Road, according to a Baltimore County police report. McCrea then allegedly took the woman's cell phone and drove her to the 5600 block of Purdue Avenue in Baltimore.
The woman escaped from the vehicle while it was parked, police said. McCrea allegedly chased her and struck her with a stick. An unknown bystander took her to Good Samaritan Hospital.
McCrea, of the 1100 block of Harwell Road, was arrested and charged with kidnapping.

Yeah, is the crime here the kidnapping or being forced to go to Baltimore City? :-)

Is there a new law which makes the word 'allegedly' necessary so many times in this short article? It seems the phrase "according to a Baltimore County police report" would serve the purpose as it does for all other news outlets.
