The man was pronounced dead at the scene, near the intersection of East Joppa Road and Prince Road.
A 52-year-old man was killed Thursday after his Chevy Malibu struck a tree near the intersection of East Joppa Road and Prince Road in Towson.
At 7:54 a.m., the car, which was traveling eastbound on Joppa Road, crossed the center line and went into the northbound lane, said Louise Rogers-Feher, a Baltimore County Police spokeswoman. The Malibu reportedly then briefly straddled a curb before overturning and hitting a tree.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police are in the process of notifying family members about the accident and have not yet released a name.

Is there any reason given for this tragedy? It was sunny, bright, dry, and windless day, so have the police either speculated about or found out the cause for this accident?

I am very curious and saddened by the situation. I heard the crash from my house, and when I got outside, there were a number of people around the car, but I am curious to know what happened and why. If the Patch could do a follow up article, I would appreciate it.
