Sunday Morning Fight Ends in Multiple Arrests

Police were forced to use pepper spray on a large crowd outside The Recher Theatre in Towson.

Police made "multiple arrests" early Sunday morning as the result of fights outside Recher Theatre in Towson.

There was a "A large party crowd that had wandered through the area," at about 1 a.m., said Cpl. J. Kelly, spokesman for the Baltimore County Police Department.

"We made multiple arrests," he said, adding that officers were forced to use pepper spray on the crowd.

Details on the number of people were arrested, their identities,  or injuries were not immediately available, Kelly said.

Editor's Note: This article has been updated to note the correct location of the fights.

That reminds me, what ever happened to Robert the shaved ape baby, who was adopted by Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden?

Now that his adopted parents are dead, killed by the U.S. and its allies, who has taken over responsibility for Robert's care?

All the action happened outside the Rec Room and near the Towson Circle. A pickup truck from the fire dept was hosing down sidewalks near the Rec Room and the Circle to remove blood. The Rec Room closed sometime after. midnight and the crowds headed South. There was one small fight inside the Greene Turtle which ended quickly. There was a fight outside involving the crowd that was being forced down the street , but the fight continued to move South. The police did make arrests in the 400 block but most of the violence occurred near the Rec Room. Please check your sources better before rushing to get a story out

There are just as many tweakers. There's more crystal Meth rolling into Harford County and Northern Baltimore County from Pennsyltucky than you can shake a stick at.
Where exactly are the "ghetto parts of Baltimore County"?

So I guess anytime there is a big crowd event, Baltimore County police should be on standby. Why do people have to fight and maim, at the drop of the hat? I would like to know the demographics of the offenders. Is Baltimore County becoming like Baltimore City??

The cops rushed down all near by streets towards other busy bars threatening to bring individuals to jail and yelling at everyone to leave immediately. Every time there is a small situation the cops in the Towson area make it a big situation.

@TowsonStudent, Would you rather be shot or killed by rogue people?? I would rather have the police move out people than be "moved" out by shots or knives. Sorry, but a small situation usually turns into a big situation that involves injury or death.

JP, attended a community meeting the other night and the captain was mortified by what he saw happening the area. He called it the "broken glass syndrome." homes unkempt homes, trash and graffiti.

The good days of Baltimore County are long gone. The people got what they voted for.

@JP Is this a result of the Morgan State event at the Recher? What was the race of the group of people causing the problems in Towson. I think, as citizens, we have a right to know. Baltimore County Police have to be tuff on these hoodlums, whether they are white or black. I don't want Baltimore County to become another crime ridden Baltimore City. Baltimore County offficials and police, please wake up! The taxpayers and residents of Batimore County don't want this disruptive behavior to become the norm in Baltimore County. Please arrest and jail these losers that don't know how to act in a civil society.

A 571 % increase food stamps, overcrowded schools, a broken budget, and read the captain's quote. You might add a SS budget that is near tripling Section 8, high unemployment middle class flight. The got a new American where the flag is a symbol of controversy especially now in the Mid-East.

If you wish I could go on and on.

Just my point, the New America, the land of the free. The increase is from 2003 to 2012 and that is only one aspect of the SS Budget.

There has been much written about the problems in Towson over the bars that they create.

Read the article in the Sun and tell me this is the first occurrence of this type.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/baltimore-county/towson/bs-md-co-towson-crowd-20120923,0,2018769.story

You think families are going to want to bring their children there if this keeps up?

You seem to forget that the money coming from Federal Government is not free.

Local taxes come out of the right pocket and federal out of the left pocket.

"Land of the Free" The bulk of food stamp recipients are children and the elderly. What do you want to go back to? Child Slavery? Put Grandma to work?

Local college kids have been drinking in Towson bars since time immemorial. Occasionally, they get into fights. Nothing has changed.

This incident happened at 1 AM. Families shouldn't have their children out at 1 AM.

Being raised in the 50's, we were poor and no one I knew ever received government assistance. We received help such as food, hand me down clothing and some monetary assistance from family. It was hard but we didn't eat steak and lobster like I see some EBT recipients buy now. Low income people feel the entitlement to have the same items as people that work every day to make a living to survive. They want to live in affluent homes, eat high priced food such as steak and lobster but don't want to work for it. Something is wrong with this picture.

As a Towson resident, we received an e-mail stating that due to Towson U's homecoming there would be an increased police and TU security presence in all surrounding areas. TU evidently put on a tight restriction on tailgating. We were encouraged to call 911 and the TU student hotline if we saw anyone or any home with TU students getting out of hand.

I cannot comment on the above event; but can comment on parents who come in and buy properties/rent properties for their spoiled children to come in to neighborhoods and act like idiots. Oh that's right this is a "college" town - I should move - Yes, I have been told that.

Towson is hardly a college town, it is too expensive. Beside, TU was primarily a teachers college through the 1940s, hardly the rambunctious hell raising types. The change was the baby boomers (always with the freakin' boomers - America's Worst Generation) and the growth of taverns that were sustainable largely due to the daytime foot traffic from the county courts/admin.

To associate Towson as a college town from the period that only began around the 1960s smacks of historical ignorance.

I don't think any town starts out as a "college town". But, with almost 22,000 students, many of whom live on or near campus, and with Towson's facilities expanding to the office buildings around town, as well as the close proximity of Goucher and Loyola, I think we can call Towson a college town. Cost does not matter. Boston is home to about a dozen universities and it's a lot more expensive than Towson.

There have been bars and college crowds in Towson for many years. I remember when the drinking age was still 18 and there were even more bars in Towson. At 2:00 the streets would regularly be packed, but there was never a riot situation. The cause of this latest riot is that the Recher management scheduled the Morgan State event during Towson's homecoming weekend. How many brain cells did this take? Is this the first year of Recher's existence? Did they not realize the potential volatile situation they were contributing to? Get a clue, Recher!

Moe, maybe if discipline, manners and responsibilty were taught in the home and schools, we, as a society wouldn't be in this mess. Today, there are no rules. it is do whatever you like. I am thankful there are police officers that are there to try to keep the peace. Now we, as citizens have to pressure the courts to do their job. No more revolving door in the court system. Criminals should be given 1 pass if it is a minor crime. Any more crimes committed should result in jail time. I will be glad to pay a special tax for maintaining jails. Maybe then these criminals would realize crime doesn't pay!

It struck a bigger chord than any of your blogs.

Things aren't any different. Food Stamp fraud is still a myth perpetuated by bitter old white bigots. It's the same thing with Voter Fraud. It started with Newt Gingrich calling the President the "Food Stamp President". Look at your biased link. The investigation was prompted by Darryl (Fast and Ffft.) Issa and Lyin' Ryan. It's all BS.

Just like you don't acknowledge Fox News I do not accept MSNBC.

The links I posted dealt with the U.S. Government not MSNBC.

Anther point that alludes your intellect is that I never stated that everyone that is on food stamps is committing fraud, just like in this link every family does not claim children that are not their own.

http://www.examiner.com/article/illegal-aliens-get-billions-tax-credits-from-irs-for-relatives-back-mexico

In your link there is one person who was impacted. I have been approached at the Giant by people on food stamps to help them commit fraud. The cashier told me what was going on and I stopped it.
