Taste of Towson Showcases Local Fare

The Towson Chamber of Commerce plans to spend all funds raised on future community events.

For the second year in a row, the Towson Chamber of Commerce is hosting Taste of Towson—the area's tastiest community events fundraiser.

"We're making it so that 100 percent of the proceeds...we'll give back to the streets of our community," said Nancy Hafford, the chamber's executive director.

Hafford said the funds raised will primarily benefit Towson's Winterfest, a month long celebration that includes the lighting of the county tree and "ho-ho" happy hours.

"It's really cool...really well received," she said.

Taste of Towson features cuisine from 26 restaurants and stores, and an open bar. The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 20 at the American Legion Post #22.

"We're expecting about 200, 300 people," Hafford said.

Tickets are $40 per head, and can be ordered by calling (410)-825-1144 or emailing info@towsonchamber.com.
