Update: 7,000 BGE Customers Lost Service During Towson Power Outage

The first report of the outage occurred around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

About seven thousand Baltimore Gas & Electric Company customers in the Towson area lost power Tuesday.

Rachel Lighty, a spokeswoman for the utilities company, said reports of service loss started around 11:30 a.m. Since then, power has been restored to approximately 6,000 customers.

BGE crews are still investigating the cause of the outages and have not yet set an estimated restoration time for the remaining customers, Lighty said.

The outages map on the website of power provider BGE shows two separate outages in the Towson area, affecting approximately 211 and 809 customers respectively.

The larger of the two outages centers on St. Joseph's Medical Center, while the smaller outage centers on Towson Town Center, the map shows.

The power was out in Towson last week too. I tried to take my wife to dinner at 7 West and they were closed due to a power outage.
