Visions for Vacancies: Prime Towson Address
The buildings at the corner of Bosley Avenue and Joppa Road were demolished in April.
Old buildings on this plot in central Towson at the corner of Bosley Avenue and West Joppa Road were demolished in April. Before that, I can't totally recall what was there. I do know it was a hangout spot for vultures.
The .2 acre site is zoned BM-CT, much like the rest of downtown Towson, allowing for a wide range of things that could go there.

High end condos or apartments. Towson needs residents who can walk to work, restaurants, shops, library, etc.

How about nothing but grass and trees?

I'd love to see an independent coffee store that would also serve some lunch/dinner fare (like paninis or salad) as well as some pastries. It would be really cool if some local restaurants could supply some of the food; say Havana Road or Cafe Troia, or vendors from the Towson Farmer's Market who make prepared food. I think the building profile should be kept low and mellow to keep the corner "quiet" and aesthetically pleasing. The corner should retain some grass and trees with some nice outside patio space for sipping and eating. The eye needs a break coming of the visual diarrhea of York Rd. It would be a great place to walk to; I can see seniors from Bykota there, families from West Towson going frequently, as well as all the residents and workers in the Towson city center going there.

More news on Hardee's - they plan an aggressive expansion back in the Mid Atlantic supposedly & may view Towson as an ideal demographic. They have the best sausage biscuits. TU students will love this place. The Earl is delighted.
