YOU REVIEW: Gino's Burgers and Chicken

Does the reinvented restaurant live up to expectations?

Is Gino's still the place to go it was decades ago?

In a review posted today on The Baltimore Sun, John Houser III wrote, "Gino's, it turns out, is still better than most fast food on the market. While it's far from perfect, Gino's still has plenty of hometown burger joint charm."

Like Houser, Patch blogger Bill McAllen, writing shortly after the restaurant's August opening, had kind words for the chain's milkshakes but conceded it wasn't the same chain he grew up with.

Gino's opened to long lines and plenty of goodwill, but recently some Patch commenters have felt torn. In a recent Rivals matchup on our site, one commenter called the restaurant's burgers "super gross."

We want to hear your take. Go to our listing for Gino's and leave your review. How were the milkshakes? Have the burgers improved since the opening? Are you still having trouble getting that jingle out of your head?

We went to Gino's once, as we were excited to see it back in the area. The Good News is that the Gino Giant is still good. The Bad News is Gino's is just too expensive for what it is, and has no ambiance for the high prices. One visit was enough, and we haven't been back, and probably won't, unless the value improves. Most of our friends have gone once, maybe twice, and agree with our assessment, especially if you also have kids to feed, too. The bottom line is, Gino's has Good food, but not the value for the price. You can go to a nice local restaurant for almost the same price, where you're likely to have the ambiance as well. Our group goes to the new Pasticcio's, where the old Milano's was.

I wasn't that impressed with the Gino Giant. I thought for the price that the Five-Guys double burger and PARTICULARLY the burgers at Burger Bros. in Towson, were better. The onion rings at Gino's, though -- are to die for. I'd go there just for the OR's and leave the rest behind.
