Appreciation Parade for Towson's Finest Runs Through Local Communities

We've been waiting for it all week, and tonight my children and I gave our thanks during The Appreciation Parade for Towson's fire, police, and Citizens On Patrol (COP) personnel.

Each year, we look forward to the chance to offer shout-outs of "Thank You" to the volunteers and Towson police officers and firefighters who keep us safer every day.

In particular, we are grateful for the Towson Area Citizens on Patrol who keep a watchful eye for us in our local communities. Their slogan, "Crime Is Not Welcome In Towson," was the central theme in this year's parade.

The parade, sponsored by Target, is an annual August event through Campus Hills and other Towson communities.

According to their website, you can help reduce the crime in Towson by "being the eyes and ears of our Baltimore County Police."

The following information is directly from their website:

Report SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY by calling: 911 FOR EMERGENCIES or 410-887-2222 FOR NON-EMERGENCIES

We are asking every resident to be a CITIZEN ON PATROL ALL THE TIME.  Especially during a holiday season!

COP Driver on Patrol – Sign up for COP car patrol, just one hour a month whenever you have time.

COP Walker/Biker/Runner/Driver on Patrol – Be vigilant as you go about your usual routine in the neighborhood.  Carry your cell phone and call one of the above numbers if you see anything suspicious (Don’t hesitate).

COP Supporter: Be vigilant as you come and go from the neighborhood.  Upon returning to the neighborhood, drive the “long” way home.  Carry your cell phone and call one of the above numbers if you see anything suspicious.

QUESTIONS?    CONTACT: towsonareacop@gmail.com.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

The Towson Area COP program is the strongest in Baltimore County. There was a great showing tonight. Many thanks to all our volunteers!
