Terell Stafford, one of the great trumpeters of all time, will be spending time next week in Baltimore, working with Jazz students at Calvert Hall College High School. The culmination of their combined efforts will be a concert, open to the public, called "Swingin' with Stafford," held on Thursday, December 20 at 7:30 pm at the Marion Knott Center for the Performing Arts, 8102 LaSalle Road, Baltimore, MD 21286. Stafford is known as a versatile player who builds on a rich trumpet tradition while building his own spirited, edgy sound.
He was born in Miami and raised in Chicago and Silver Spring, Maryland. He received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Maryland in 1988 and a Masters of Music from Rutgers University in 1993.
