Paperwhites or Narcissi are bulb plants that can be forced between the beginning of October and the end of March.  It usually takes about a month for forced bulbs to reach a full bloom, however, if planted later in season the blooms tend to appear quicker due. They should be planted in pebbles or gravel in a bowl without drainage and should be kept in full daylight but at temperatures below 70 degrees. The clusters of white blooms that grow on the end of the tall stalks give off an interesting scent and add interest to mantels or side tables. They add a fresh look to any home throughout the fall and winter months.
