More About Albert S. Cook Library
Towson University's five-floor library carries 570,000 books, 17,800 non-book items and 1,200 print journals. If you're looking for it, chances are it's here. Following Towson's 2009 merger with Baltimore Hebrew University, Cook Library acquired that school's collection of literature on Jewish history and philosophy. The library also houses Towson University's archives, including literary magazines, faculty publications and the complete print run of The Towerlight. The library has computers on all floors open to public use. However, only Towson students, faculty, staff and alumni have unlimited borrowing privileges. Unaffiliated community members may ask library staff for privileges on a case-by-case basis. In the library's lobby, you'll find a copy/print shop and a Starbucks cafe. During final exam season, the library is open 24 hours a day.
