Hailing from Detroit, Sponge gained widespread notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata." Hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" fueled massive airplay on commercial radio and were in heavy rotation on MTV. ”Rotting Piñata” was the breakthrough album for Sponge –a band that continues to earn acclaim for their no-holds-bar live shows.
Sponge has spent the summer bringing their “Rotting Piñata Rewind Tour” to ecstatic fans on both coasts.
“These shows give die hard Sponge fans the chance to hear songs that have not been performed live for almost 20 years!" explains Sponge lead singer Vinnie Dombroski.
Of course fans will also be treated to additional Sponge hits from their extensive catalog including the infectious “Wax Ecstatic” and the heartfelt ballad “Have You Seen Mary.”
Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to see Sponge perform their smash hit CD "Rotting Piñata" live and up close at the Recher Theatre!

More About Recher Theatre
This locally renowned concert hall was converted from the historic Towson Theatre, which was a single-screen movie house. Brian Recher and his brothers Steve and Scott reopened the building as the Recher Theatre in 1996. Boasting some of the finest acoustics in all of Baltimore's live scene, the Recher Theatre hosts local and national recording artists of varying genres: rock, metal, punk, reggae, jazz, hip hop, blues, tribute bands and others. Crack the Sky reunion gigs are always the rage, along with some of the coldest beer in town. The Rec Room, a side bar (and a rear party deck), is considered one of the weekend hangout spots in Towson.
