HGTV’s Cari Cucksey Turns Bleak into Antique Chic
The fun and features at the Fall Maryland Home & Garden Show are piling up like leaves on the lawn! This year’s show, Friday through Sunday, October 18-20, 2013 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, is packed with the products and inspiration that homeowners need as well as educational seminars and activities to delight the entire family.
The Area’s Top Home Improvement Experts
From a weekend project to a total home transformation, more than 300 expert exhibitors at the show will have the products and know-how to help visitors realize their home improvement dreams. With the region’s top home professionals all in one place, visitors can explore every possibility at special show prices.
The region’s top landscapers will showcase their talents in walk-through gardens filled with native trees, shrubs and flower medleys, making the show a perfect place for homeowners to begin building their plan for a backyard oasis.
HGTV’s Cari Cucksey
When it comes to decorating newly remodeled homes, Cari Cucksey, star of HGTV’s Cash and Cari, will show visitors how to repurpose the old, dusty and rusty into décor they’ll adore. After the presentation with the estate sale savant, visitors will be able to see the contents of their attics in creative and exciting ways, finding new possibilities and functions for pieces long abandoned. Cucksey will present her seminar in the Home & Garden Theater Friday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., Saturday at 12 p.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 12 p.m.
Members of The American Society of Interior Designers will offer free consultations for those looking to give their room the finishing touch or an entirely new look. Bring plans and pictures.
Stunning Creations in Pumpkins and Sand
The arrival of the Fall Home and Garden Show means Halloween is mere days away and show guests will marvel at the pumpkin carvings of Villafane Studio’s Gabe Vinas. With painstaking detail and stunning realism, Gabe’s pumpkins are more suited for a museum than a front porch. Gabe will be carving throughout the show, as well as displaying other amazing works by Villafane Studio’s roster of squash-sculpting superstars.
Those seeking one last glimmer of summer fun are in for a treat as well. Randy Hofman, the Sandman of Ocean City, who has delighted beachgoers for more than 30 years, will bring his sand sculpting skill from the shore to the show, creating scenes and images that will bid a fond farewell to beach season.
It’s never too early to think about holiday gift giving and the Maryland Home and Garden Show is a great place to start.
