Rodgers Forge Woman Wins Slogan Contest

Katie Glorioso's submission was picked from more than 300 entries

What some spent hours mulling over, Katie Glorioso did with a pen and paper in the middle of the night.

Glorioso came up with the new Towson slogan, "Rich in History, Young at Heart." The slogan was selected in a contest sponsored by the Towson Chamber of Commerce, Greater Towson Committee, Greater Towson Council of Community Associations and Councilman David Marks' office.

"I just woke up and something clicked," she said.

Glorioso's slogan was announced as the winner at the opening ceremonies of the Towsontown Spring Festival. Glorioso won a $250 check from the chamber, and proclamations from local officials, including the county executive's office and the County Council.

"I couldn't believe it at first. It's a real privilege," said the 33-year-old from Rodgers Forge. "It was just a few random words I thought of."

The lifelong Towson resident's entry was one of more than 300 the chamber received.

"(Towson) is a great neighborhood," she said. "There's so much to do, so much to see."
