Snow Timeline for Baltimore County

The National Weather Service issued an alert for Baltimore County based on snow predictions.

Maryland transportation officials advised drivers to allow extra time for their Monday morning commutes, as snow blankets the region.

Most of Baltimore County was under a winter weather advisory, meaning snow-covered roads and limited visibility may make traveling difficult.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory for Howard, Montgomery and Baltimore counties, stating that one to four inches of snow may accumulate.

Rain overnight would change to a mixture of snow and sleet at dawn, changing to all wet snow between 7 and 10 a.m., according to the weather service.

The heaviest snowfall was expected Monday morning, according to the forecast.

The weather service reported the snow should move east by the afternoon.

Schools in the Hereford Zone—Fifth District Elementary, Hereford High, Hereford Middle, Jacksonville Elementary, Prettyboy Elementary, Seventh District Elementary and Sparks Elementary—were on a two-hour delay Monday, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.

The winter weather advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday.
