The Community Art Center at 's Center for the Arts lets children from ages 6 to 14 explore the world of art. From June 20 to Aug. 5, students can learn every type of medium, including painting, sculpture, drawing, clay and mixed media.
The Towson Y invites children from kindergarten through 12th grade to its summer day camps. Camps begin June 20 and end Aug. 28, so check out the Y of Central Maryland website and find which sessions fit your family's summer schedule.
Get your kids into the groove with Towson University's dance camp. Throughout the summer, Towson's dance faculty and staff are holding several workshops that will expose your child to the basics of ballet and jazz to more intensive classes of dance. By the end of the camp, your child will turn from a dance amateur to a dance star.
Have a future Poe or Mencken on your hands? Well, why not send him or her to the Maryland Writing Project's Student Writer's Workshop for children in grades two through 12. At sessions from July 5 to July 22 at Towson University, particpants hone their writing skills and share their work with teachers and peers.
Would your child rather solve some algebra problems than kick a soccer ball around? No worries, Towson University has the perfect camp for you. "College for Kids" allows children from age 4 to those entering the fifth grade to take a course specifically made for their grade from July 25 to 29. Check the website for more information.
