Towson Business Community Gears Up for WinterFest

The month long celebration features holiday events.

The annual county Christmas tree lighting may mark the start of the holiday season, but Towson's WinterFest keeps the spirit going.

The Towson Chamber of Commerce is putting on a series of events to keep the community vibrant throughout December.

"We would have hundreds of people coming to Towson for the tree lighting and we wanted to do something to keep them around," said Nancy Hafford, executive director of the chamber.

Hafford noted that the events from WinterFest—which began three years ago— were inspired by holiday celebrations she saw while visiting other areas in the state.

"It's just nice because one of the purposes of the chamber is to support the Towson business community...It's helped out a lot," she said.

Winterfest also features specials and collaborations from local businesses.

"It's really wonderful to see the whole business community working together," Hafford said.

Additionally, the county is offering 695 free parking spaces in Towson during select times for holiday shopping.

For more information on businesses participating in WinterFest activities, check out the chamber website or call (410)-825-1144.

Shouldn't the Men's Shopping Night be on December 24th?
