Beauty on a Budget

Looking Good without Breaking the Bank

There's a saying, "you never know what you've got 'til it's gone," and that's usually used in relationships but it also works for the good looks of your youth.  When you're in your twenties, getting ready to go out is a matter of some hairspray and some lipgloss, now that I'm in my forties, there's a lot more concealer involved.

I have found some great products out there and I wanted to share it with everyone.  So if you have a particular beauty challenge, send me a question, and I'll do my best to answer it.

Elf Products

This little-known brand is cheap, effective and available at Target.  Two products I really liked from them:

Highlighter stick, $1

It's an iridescent cream you can use on your cheekbones, lips and eyes to give them a slight shimmer.  It smells great and works like a charm!  It's only available in two colors, but the all-purpose pink works well for most people and I really liked it.

Eye Shadow, $1 each

Elf has a limited selection of colors but each is only $1 and you can get a compact which holds 4 colors for $1 to keep them all in one place.  Most compacts cost at least $10 and this one you can fill with colors of your choosing.

Stay tuned for more skincare and make up advice.
