The family of a graduate killed in a car crash in Morocco earlier this month has made the details of her funeral arrangements available publicly on Facebook.
Kelly Dalla Tezza, 22, a Parkville native, was killed March 16 in a car accident while studying abroad on a Fulbright grant in Morocco.
A wake will be held in her honor at Leonard Ruck's Funeral Home, 5305 Harford Road, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, according to a public event posted on Facebook.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Dominic's Church, 5310 Harford Road.
"All are welcome. Please tell friends," the post says.
The event also suggests that in lieu of flowers gifts be made in Dalla Tezza's memory to the McGillycuddy-Logue Center for Undergraduate Global Studies at Boston College.
Donations can be sent to the Alumni Center, 140 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, MA 02647 or made online at www.bc.edu/give
The Boston College Chronicle, the school newspaper at Boston College where Dalla Tezza graduated last year, reported that Dalla Tezza graduated last May with a degree in Islamic Civilization and Societies.
She was one of 21 BC Fulbright winners last year, the Chronicle reported.
"The Middle East is both an intellectually stimulating and strategically important region, especially as the effects of the ‘Arab Spring’ come to light,” she told Boston College Chronicle after receiving her Fulbright award last spring. "I value the opportunity to immerse myself in both the language and the culture of Bahrain."
