Update (10:36 a.m.)—Health department spokeswoman Monique Lyle said the snake was actually a five-foot long rat snake. Animal control officers have not yet found the owner, and cannot determine how the snake got there, Lyle said in an email.
Animal control officers removed a seven-foot python from a Towson-area yard late Sunday evening.
Baltimore County police Cpl. George Ehrhardt said a resident in the 1300 block of Taylor Avenue called police around 9:30 p.m. and reported seeing the snake in the road.
An animal control officer arrived about an hour later to remove the snake, Ehrhardt said. No further information, including where the snake came from, was available.
