A.A. Co. Officer's Gun Stolen From Car in Towson

The officer's service weapon was stolen Friday night in the Loch Raven area.

Baltimore County police are asking for leads after an Anne Arundel County police officer's service weapon was stolen from his car.

The incident occurred Friday night, Aug. 10, between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m in the 8800 block of Orchard Tree Lane, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said.

The officer was off-duty, and kept his service weapon, a Sig Sauer P229, in the trunk of his personal car. When he returned to his car that evening, he found his driver's side window had been smashed out and the gun was missing from his trunk, Batton said.

Batton said the gun's serial number and theft were reported to the FBI's National Crime Information Center.

In the same lot that evening, a woman returned to her car at 10:10 p.m. to find that her rear driver's side window was smashed and her purse had been stolen.

"Detectives are still working, they're checking for witnesses," Batton said.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Baltimore County police at 410-307-2020.

LOL Sounds like he was in KAOS. Why would you leave a gun or a purse locked in your car outside of a strip joint?

Another question is why would he go to KAOS? There are certainly far better strip joints around than that!

He wasn't at KAOS, he was at Skateland.
