The woman convicted of providing the gun used in a 2010 murder-for-hire case was sentenced to life in prison on Monday.
Susan Datta of Middle River on murder charges for providing the gun used in the March 2010 killing of William R. Porter, owner of the Hess gas station on East Joppa Road in Towson.
Judge Thomas Bollinger ruled that Datta will serve two concurrent life sentences for first-degree murder and conspiracy and five years without parole for use of a handgun in comission of a crime of violence.
Porter's wife, Karla—Datta's sister—is accused of arranging the murder-for-hire scheme that led to his death. She is set to stand trial in March.
Walter Bishop, the gunman, to two life sentences, plus 20 years. Three other co-conspirators are set for sentencing hearings in the next two months.
