A Phoenix man threatened four people, including two children, with a handgun during a Saturday road rage incident, according to Baltimore County police.
At 1:33 p.m., John Emmett, 52, of the 4000 block of Cloverland Drive allegedly pulled out the handgun and pointed it at the victims near the intersection of York and Joppa roads. All parties remained in the seats and vehicles during the incident, according to a Baltimore County police report.
Police later located Emmett's vehicle and positively identified him as the suspect, police said. A handgun was reportedly found under his vehicle's driver seat.
Perhaps you've merely mistaken me for some of the little voices in your head - you think I'm heading up a lynch mob, that I'm some anti-gun conspirator out to help frame dentists! ...all that other nonsense you are going on about? I think the fight you have is with yourself dear, and yet, you're still losing. Here's a video for you to watch... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INscMGmhmX4
Certainly the dentist will get his day in court... the article merely states the facts as reported by the Baltimore County police department - that a family was threatened by a man with a gun, that they identified the man, and that when they pulled him over, they found a gun under his seat. Theoretically, the family could have been trying to kill the dentist, and he merely defensed - but there's no reason to believe that. Theoretically, there may some vast conspiracy to frame the dentist (as "Robert" has suggested), but that seems unlikely. What has been reported is that a man pulled a gun on a family in traffic, and that a man matching that description was found with a gun (there's no mention either way on if he had a valid MD CCW). Certainly, people have a right to defend themselves and to carry a gun. At this point, is there anything at all that leads anyone to believe that this family threatened the dentist to the point that he felt it necessary to draw his gun? I'm sure the details will come out, but to be fair - a family driving in the Towson circle also has a reasonable expectation for their own safety, and everything that the police have reported indicates that they were assaulted with a deadly weapon, while nothing indicates a conspiracy or that this was a dentist defending himself in a gunfight with another motorist. I look forward to reading his statement

As long as you're on... what exactly was this... about my, "participation in the mindless, "let's string him up" you were [sic] you were engaged in." I'm happy to respectfully debate you on any point you care to attempt to make, but I can't argue against things you imagine or make up out of thin air. My first and only comment to you on that point was a mention that I think America is a great country, in contrast to your whining and complaining about it, and then I wanted to just mention that I think this idea of some wild anti-gun conspiracy responsible for framing the dentist is just plain nuts... Do you care to explain what you meant by that statement exactly? You call me a lynch-mob and a goober - but what exactly did I say about this dentist that makes it seem to you like I'm calling for his head? I never once mentioned my opinion on gun rights, other than my support, yet you think I'm some "anti-gun" activist or something - you have a lot a voices in your head, don't you, or maybe your "cell phone" was just confused again... Calm down and get a grip.
Baltimore City is crime-ridden. Unfortunately poverty tends to breed crime. In any event, the justice system will determine who is guilty and who isn't. I don't know the dentist from Adam and like I said maybe he is guilty. I can say that a Black driver of a tow truck blocked the road while he talked on a telephone. I beeped my horn at him. He came a foot from ramming into me do to road rage and not just me but entire family including 1 year old. My white neighbor saw the whole incident and didn't want to have problems with the driver who knew where lived. I didn't call the police, because even though I am white, I don't trust our police at all to protect me or that neighbor. I have called on them before, they have never done their job properly. I find it suspect that they were so quick to arrest this man without any seeming proof. Did the man have a permit to have a gun? Did someone know he carried a gun and had something out for him? Maybe.
Oh, by the way Steve, I am one of the FEW people in this sorry state who has a CCW permit from the state of Maryland. I have carried a gun for years and other than my wife, no one has EVER seen my gun when I carry it nor do I even tell anyone that I have the permit to carry. I, and all others who have these permits, know that the day that you decide to take your gun out of its holster in public, YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE FOREVER. If you unfortunate enough to have to shoot someone for ANY reason, the consequences are obvious (long legal battles and enormous legal fees). The same is true even if you draw your firearm and simply hold a perpetrator at gunpoint while awaiting the arrival of the police. No, Steve, it is an ENORMOUS responsibility to have a firearm on one's person even legally. And thanks to uninformed IDIOTS like yourself it is all too UNCOMMON in this state.
Sorry, but this, "the cops and this family were out to get him" theory holds no water. Don't you think if a guy threatens people with a gun in traffic, and he's then found with the gun hidden under his car seat, that it's reasonable for the police to bring the guy in? You think the police should ask him, "are you rich and from the county? I'm sorry sir, go about your business" - And nobody is calling to string the dentist up here... however, I do see you guys with your conspiracy theory and victim mentality, attacking folks here who want to talk about the topic and throwing around crazy accusations against the police and other Patch users... if you had a point to make or information to contribute, I suspect you would have done that, but alas... it's just "the cops are out to get us, it's an anti-gun conspiracy!" Wow ...it must be tough for you, being so afraid all the time. Thanks for sharing your harrowing tale of a black tow truck driver who drove near to your car after you blew your horn at him, I'm glad you survived that ordeal :/
"Few people" Another big lie. There are thousands of people in MD with CCW permits. That's more than a few in my book. Other than that , Save the Drama for your Momma. If I was the State I would revoke your permit for your obvious anger management issues....
And for the record, I eat fiber almost every day for regularity... I can't comment on the moral character of my bran flakes, but they have always been nice to me.
What if the victim in this incident would have also been carrying?? "Gunfight at the Towson Roundabout" would have been the headline....
I am appalled & distrurbed by the comments I am reading! All of you assinine jackasses except for a few are quoting & talking about gun laws & permits; but NEITHER one of you JackAssB*^es are thinking about nor giving a thought or flying fig newton about the CHILDREN in the car. So what Dr. John Emmett, an Oral Surgeon has a permit for his handgun! It doesn't make him a GOD nor does it give him the right to brandish & wield it at a FAMILY!!!! Get real people, IT COULD HAVE BEEN YOU & YOUR CHILDREN. Let's not forget about the maniac who brazenly killed 27 children & adults. Just because you have prestige does not put you above the law, nor should it or allow you to disregard humanity. What if Dr. John Emmett decided to whip out his gun while you, your children or one of your family members were having oral surgery in his office?!?!?! What are you going to do? Where Kevlar while in the reception area? FOOLS Think about the children
