Police Identify Parkton Crash Victim

A young woman died Tuesday morning following an automobile accident on Mt. Carmel Road.

A Hampstead woman died Tuesday morning in North County following a devastating car accident that sent three others to a regional trauma center.

Police have identified Heather Dawn Martin, of the 19000 block of Grave Run Road, as the young woman who veered into oncoming traffic on Mt. Carmel Road, just west of Single Tree Lane. Martin was 25 years old.

According to police, Martin was driving eastbound when her 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse was struck by a 2004 Honda Pilot coming in the other direction.

"The roads were not good yesterday," Louise Rogers-Feher, a Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman, said. "[But] it could be any number things."

Amanda Rose Coffeen, 35, was driving the Honda Pilot. She along with two passengers were taken to York Trauma for evaluation.

The speed limit along Mt. Carmel Road is 40 mph., although police are unsure what factors contributed to the accident at this time.

Officers were dispatched to the accident in the 2200-block of Mt. Carmel Road at around 11:30 a.m.

My name is Angela and I was the passenger in the other car. I can not begin to say how much this has weighed on mine and my friends heart. We are both heartbroken over this terrible accident. Everyone we know is praying for Heather's family and friends.
