UPDATE: Police Identify Man Killed in Towson Area Shooting

Police believe the victim was shot inside an apartment in the 7000 block of Lachlan Circle.

(Update 2:04 p.m.)—Police have identified a man who was killed in a Sunday night shooting as 27-year-old Alsawab Sawab.

Police believe Sawab was shot inside his apartment in the 7000 block of Lachlan Circle, according to a statement from Cpl. Cathy Batton, a Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman.

A resident who lives in the same block called police shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday to report that a man suffering from a gunshot wound was outside the caller's home. Police and fire crews found the man, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said in a statement Sunday night.

Police have ruled the incident a homicide and are continuing to investigate.

Meg, I, as a victim numerous times would take serious issue with that statement. Their propaganda is good but there's a lot you don't know about. I know the system, I spent 39 years in it.

Darnell the county is an extension of the city and it has little to do with race. People are fleeing the city for a better life and for now the county offers that.
Steve November 30, 2012 at 07:32 PM
LOL People aren't fleeing" the city. That's ridiculous. Baltimore City's population has been declining since 1970. Things are starting to turn the other way now. The city's population decline has been the lowest ever last year.

Hey "Other Tim". If the shoe fits.....
M. Sullivan November 30, 2012 at 08:09 PM
Hey Steve, I "flee the city" any time I find myself there and the sun starts going down. LOL!
M. Sullivan November 30, 2012 at 08:13 PM
Hey eddy, Chantee, and SamiyahSawab, I only see one post in this whole thread that was specifically negative toward the victim. So, what are you people whining about?
PrincessJasmine @aladdins_ November 30, 2012 at 08:15 PM
Sawab was a wonderful man and a wonderful father! I loved him with every part of me! We all make mistakes in life, but God should always have the final say. No one deserves to die against Gods will and the person who did this will reap the benefit of the seed they choose to sew. Every thing I used to do with him I'll have to learn to do alone. For some of us, this is not about race, sin, his past or the neighborhood, this is simply about losing someone we loved very much and now trying to figure out how to move on without him...so if any of you have any decency, wish his family your condolences and say a prayer that God continue to protect your family and cover the neighborhood he was killed in. I love you Sawab aka "my Aladdin" ...my heart aches for you and I don't know If I'm capable of loving anyone else the way that I loved you baby. Rest in Paradise and visit me in my dreams!

While im sorry to his family and those that knew him.. He was a drug dealer. Everyone saw randos walking up to his door and leaving very shortly after, and everyone noticed him peeking out the window when they pulled up to the building. I'm honestly relieved the sketchiness and potential danger he was putting each resident through is over now. He and his family were not the only ones that called this building home and to bring dirty business into the place that other people call home is disrespectful as hell and pretty disgraceful too.
Needaname December 11, 2012 at 09:52 PM
YEAH - well said Jj. So many people are afraid to stick up for themselves - and fail to treat themselves with the self respect they desire. No one should worry about someone else creating a dangerous atmosphere - and drug dealing brings just that problem. That resident was a scourge to the building. Now everyone can breathe easy and enjoy their home !

John, Ive been saying that till I'm blue in the face. I gave the people a choice in 2010 when I ran for council on the east side and lost. You get what you voted for. The county's food stamp budget is up 500% since 2001. What's that tell you? We have become a sanctuary county and we are being destabilized. The last census showed a large migration of poor immigrants into the county.
Steve December 12, 2012 at 04:10 AM
The Census said no such thing. The County's food stamp budget is up because the entire Country is in a Recession. Maybe next time instead of the campaign slogan of "English Unties <sic> Us" your slogan should be "White Power"

Steve the less of your kind on the street the better.
Buzz Beeler December 12, 2012 at 01:31 PM
Hey Steve if people fleeing the city why is the Mayor pushing for 10,000 immigrant families to move in? Is it because you and Frank are off the streets now.
Arbutus Town Crier December 12, 2012 at 01:44 PM
Buzz, they are now located in Baltimore county where the Baltimore County and Baltimore City share the same zip codes........ Ganglia is off the Streets?
Buzz Beeler December 12, 2012 at 01:44 PM
Steve, California is bankrupted with the largest population of illegals in the nation. What's that tell you. You get fed three squares a day so why are you worrying? I never said anything about race. I just asked a question a while back if you were doing time? I'm still waiting for an answer like always. Since you refuse to answer a simple question what is one to think? If your here all day and night, when do you have time to work?
Steve December 12, 2012 at 03:07 PM
People aren't "fleeing" the city. That's what scared old white people who never even set foot in the City like to keep telling each other. It's that whole "Fear the Brown Man" phobia they have. In actuality, according to the last census some neighborhoods have had increases in population of 20% or more. http://www.baltimorecity.gov/Portals/0/agencies/planning/2010%20Census/public%20downloads/BaltimoreByTheNumbers-V1.pdf

Is he the guy that recently got his braces off? I knew a couple of guys that lived in that building. I hope it's not him :-(
Sassy January 14, 2013 at 05:05 PM
Since the deceased Sawab was a drug dealer, I guess it would be accurate to assume he was shot by either another drug dealer or some scum he was selling drugs to. None of this is about race--it's about crime! No matter how much the deceased was loved by his family, or what a great guy he was, he was a CRIMINAL attracting scum into our county. And--drug addicts are not human. They'll kill anyone in their way if then need a fix.
