I want to thank Delegate John Olszewski Jr. for standing up for the rights of all Maryland residents. I'm very disappointed in the votes of the other 6th district delegates. I believe they voted their own personal feelings and not those that represent this area. To Sammi; marriage is a civil event. You CANNOT be married in a church unless you have a state issued marriage license. You CAN be married WITHOUT a religious ceremony of any kind. You're confused in thinking that marriage is a religious institution as it requires the civil authority to make it valid.

Del. Lafferty, thank you for your vote. Dels. Aumann and Frank, I won't forget your votes, either.

As do people that get divorced and remarry. That should also be illegal, right? You probably are also for small government, so why don't we just removed government from marriage entirely and take away your ability to obtain legal advantages for being married?
