Power went out at late Thursday morning, according to a school system spokesman.
The school system was notified around 11:40 a.m. Students were allowed to finish the school day normally, without early dismissal.
"Sometimes if it's close to dismissal, it makes more sense just from a logistical point of view to keep everyone in place until the buses come, then we have a normal dismissal," school system spokesman Charles Herndon said. "It depends on what the school's able to do and what the logistics of the situation are."
Power was still out when students were dismissed that afternoon. Baltimore Gas and Electric is not reporting any significant outages in the region.
