Launched in 1866 as a teachers' college, Towson University has grown from humble roots to become the second-largest university in Maryland. Boasting 21,000 students on its 328-acre campus, Towson offers programs for undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.

The campus also hosts an Asian arts center, a women's center, a nationally-recognized audiology clinic, the Baltimore Hebrew Institute, the Albert S. Cook Library, The Towerlight and the popular WTMD-FM. More important, it's also home to the 4,500 students who live on campus during the academic year.
