State Highway Administration Seeking Input for Possible Charles Street Sidewalks
Sidewalks have been proposed along parts of Charles Street near the city and county line.
The Maryland State Highway Administration is hosting community input meeting to discuss the possibility of sidewalks along parts of Charles Street. The sidewalks would be located near the city and county line, according to an email from Councilman David Marks, who represents Towson. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday at Church of the Redeemer Auditorium, 5603 North Charles Street. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be pushed back to March 5. "I know this is a priority for community leaders in the Bellona/Gittings area, and have had several discussions with my colleague City Councilman Bill Henry about the need to better connect the neighborhoods that abut the line between Baltimore City and County," Marks wrote in …

Councilman Marks...Thanks for initiating this project. The meeting on Monday went well. It is good to see the community and government officials working together to get a positive program completed. Several Patch comments also recommended bike access. That was my main concern at the meeting. Not for anything new, but to at least maintain what is there.
