Loni Ingraham, Longtime Towson Times Reporter, Retires
Loni Ingraham is putting away her pens this week after 24 years at the paper.
Doug Riley was knocking on doors in Rodgers Forge in 1990 as he launched his first run for Baltimore County Council when he came to one house he'll never forget. "Hello, Mrs. In-gra-ham," he said, awkwardly reading a name off a list. "I know who you are!" the woman exclaimed. "I'm Loni Ingraham with the Towson Times." And so began Riley's first newspaper interview, on the steps outside Ingraham's Rodgers Forge home. This week, however, it was Ingraham's turn to be the lead story. A Towson Times reporter for 24 years, the 70-year-old Knollwood resident hangs up her notebook on Friday. "The best part of my job is talking to people and listening to people," she said.
