UMD Police Trainee Shot During Owings Mills Exercise

A police trainee was shot during a training exercise in Owings Mills Tuesday afternoon.

A University of Maryland police trainee was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma after being shot during a training exercise Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed. Baltimore City Police have a training facility on Rosewood Lane in Owings Mills, but Detective Angela Carter-Watson, a police spokeswoman, could only confirm that the incident occurred in Owings Mills at 2:36 p.m. ABC2 News reported that the incident happened at the Rosewood Center on Rosewood Lane. At 3 p.m., Carter-Watson said the trainee was being transported by medevac to Maryland Shock Trauma. The nature of the injuries was still under investigation, she said. Editor's note: Due to a source error, the story orginally reported that the wounded officer was a Baltimore Police trainee.

UPDATE: Missing Hampden Resident Found

Daniel Dennies reportedly went missing on Jan. 11 in the Towson or North Baltimore areas.

(Update 3:22 p.m. Friday)—Daniel Dennies, a Hampden man who friends say went missing on Jan.11, has been located by the Baltimore Police Department, said Scott Rothman, a friend, Friday afternoon. Sgt. Anthony Smith, a police spokesman, confirmed that Dennies was found and said he is safe at home. North Baltimore Patch Editor Adam Bednar contributed to this report.
