I don't who you are, johnny - but thank you.

johnny, your ideas are worth sharing. I especially like the TCIII ideas. When I speak of the wet blankets of Towson, I am refering to the many people who are so angry that Towson isn't the neighborhood they grew up in. Heck, the WORLD isn't the same place we grew up in!
I've only lived in Towson for 33 years. Yet,I'm the new kid. But even in my own neighborhood, I am constantly faced with those who dig in their heels, get nasty with everybody, and won't agree with any change. Then, the powers that be roll right over top of them. Nothing goes their way. And they wonder why they're miserable. One must negotiate in this world to make things work.
Maybe we can meet one day for a cup of coffee at the Kenilworth Mall. (Oh you should have heard the screaming about that one!) Now, they're so protective, they don't want ANYBODY there.

johnny, I live in Riderwoods Hills. While many of the situations to which I referred didn't ALL happen in my neighborhood, I have attended meetings with others in the Towson area (where, understandably, our issues are with student housing). Just take a look at what happened along Burke Ave. Even though many of the offending houses have now been torn down, and new construction has (finally) started, that destruction was allowed to go on the DECADES, while the neighborhood slowly deteriorated, and the families suffered.
Other neighborhoods have become so bad that there are more rental houses than there are residents. That's no place to raise a family. In our neighborhood, we have learned from history and will fight these changes every step of the way.
Thanks for your concern.
I also agree with you on the school board issues - to a degree. Even though our children are long out fot eh schools, I am looking toward the education our grandchildren (as yet unborn) will receive. Ihave been to numerous meetings, and did a stint or 2 with the PTA. I have attended many meetings over the years. The board needs to be more accountable, but in this instance, Jim Smith shut down the whole process, and that id 100% wrong.
