ReplyPit bulls do not just attack in th inner city. All of us love in the 'safe' suburban areas are at risk for a pit bull attack. Pit bull, even those in suburbia' have been known to attack even their own owners. I agree if a dog is taught to fight it will go on a rampage. But many pit bulls who have never fought attack, maim or kill their victims.

ReplyJustin the reason you do not hear about terrier attacks is because a terrier bite is not newsworthy. Terrier bites are not newsworthy because they inflict little damage. Please see the link above of Dominic's injuries from a pit bull.

ReplyJustin the reason you hear about pit bull attacks is not because they do more damage than any terrier could. Of course there are dog bites every day but of course a beagle bite is not newsworthy because they inflict little damage. But dog mauling is another story. Please see the link above from me of Dominic's mauling. No terrier could do this sort of damage.

ReplyI agree with Joanne. Rarely will you hear about poodles or spaniels mauling a person and the news knowing about it. Attached are pictures of the Solesky boy's injuries from his pit bull shark attack. The court ruling of last year needs to stand so the public can be protected from a health hazard and regain expense in the event they are attacked. http://dangerousbydefault.com/photos/ugly-dominic-injuries/

ReplyThat light rail station is in a secluded area. I have seen officers there but not always.

ReplyPits have been bred to be fighters for hundreds of years. Their trait to attack and destroy is documented before the 1800's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_fighting Pits are mentioned in this link.

ReplyTerri you seem really upset but the stats show that pit bulls are the biggest problem for maulings. Many cites and counties in the US already agree and have enacted regs to control their damage. Please see Dogsbite.org for more information.

Justin the media has not swayed me. I personally know three people who have been victims of pitbull attacks. They all live in the burbs and the owners of the attack dogs all live in the burbs. I see no correlation between basement size and pit bull attacks. I guess if you feel you are losing you would change the subject to confuse matters? Signing off because this convo is no longer relevant.
