TIMONIUM, MD — German fans do not have to wait until October to get out their lederhosen. The German American Associations in Maryland is putting on the German Festival this weekend at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.
Spanning Saturday and Sunday, the festival includes German bands, German food like pretzels and schnitzel and of course, German libations, including beer, wine and Schnapps as well as nonalcoholic drinks. Crafts and collectibles will be for sale too. While the festival is inside the air-conditioned 4-H building at the fairgrounds, there is an outdoor beer garden.
For children, a climbing wall and pony rides will be available from 1 to 6 p.m. both days. Puppet shows are also on tap.
Tickets are available online (for Saturday and/or Sunday) and at the gate. Admission is $10 for adults, but $7 for military with identification, students and senior citizens. Children under 12 get in free. People who come in costume get in free as well, organizers say. Parking is also free.
The German Festival is 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 10. It is at the air-conditioned 4-H building at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Rd., Timonium.
I can’t believe these are our ‘leaders’. Drugs deals on every corner and in every parking lot. Johnny Clueless so concerned about low income earners, when they live better than the middle class. Garbage bags littered everywhere by mostly the people Johnny ‘entitled’ to county houses.
My concern about some of the logic being used here is that the problem isn't the plastic bags.
Let's talk about the people who are doing the littering. Full garbage bags placed on the streets and sideways. Garbage being thrown from cars and trucks. Pedestrians walking and eating..than throwing garbage on the ground. Dog walkers not picking up after their dogs. Etc..
