TOWSON, MD — A tree-planting effort is planned in the Towson area, and it will take root in the coming months.
Across Towson, organizers say 14 neighborhoods are targeted for the planting, including Anneslie, East Towson, Gaywood, Glendale, Harford Park, Idleywylde, Knollwood, Lutherville, Rodgers Forge, Stoneleigh, Southland Hills, Sudbrook, West Towson and Wiltondale.
Blue Water Baltimore — which is spearheading the planting effort — will be reaching out to the community, training members and providing trees this month and next month.
Residents can request trees now. Here is where to order a tree.
Those who would like to help should look for volunteer opportunities on the Blue Water Website in August for October plantings.
The tree planting effort is funded through a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant to increase tree canopy through several projects, organizers said.
I can’t believe these are our ‘leaders’. Drugs deals on every corner and in every parking lot. Johnny Clueless so concerned about low income earners, when they live better than the middle class. Garbage bags littered everywhere by mostly the people Johnny ‘entitled’ to county houses.
My concern about some of the logic being used here is that the problem isn't the plastic bags.
Let's talk about the people who are doing the littering. Full garbage bags placed on the streets and sideways. Garbage being thrown from cars and trucks. Pedestrians walking and eating..than throwing garbage on the ground. Dog walkers not picking up after their dogs. Etc..
