Ice Cream Shop With Towson Location Rated Among 40 Best Ice Cream Shops In U.S.
TOWSON, MD — An ice creamery with a location in Towson was recently named among the 40 best ice cream shops in the U.S. by Thrillist.
The entertainment magazine described the Maryland ice cream shop’s flavors as “creative” and “socially conscious” with “humor and whimsy” churned into the mix. It offers staples like Maryland mud (chocolate with Oreos and chocolate chips) and Old Bay salted caramel. In addition, it has a steady stream of rotating flavors. "Saturday Morning Cartoon," featuring a Frosted Flake base with Lucky Charms marshmallows, is on the menu in Towson, along with vegan coconut chocolate chip and several other options.
The Charmery opened in Baltimore in 2013 and in Towson in 2018. In addition to its flagship Hampden location on 36th Street, it has a factory with ice cream shop attached off 41st Street and operates an outpost in Columbia.
On Aug. 13, The Charmery will celebrate its 9th birthday at all locations with flavors inspired by the number 9, including The GOATstachio #9, a collaborative effort with Justin Tucker, the kicker who wears No. 9 for the Baltimore Ravens. The flavor is pistachio, raspberry and white chocolate. Several other special ice creams will be offered as well, and people can get a free baby scoop with their order or free skull and "cross cones" temporary tattoo to celebrate.
The 9th anniversary party will take place at the Towson Charmery at 6807 York Road from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13.
