TOWSON - On Monday, the State Employees Credit Union hosted its “Day of Kindness” at the SECU Arena of Towson University. The event brought together approximately 400 SECU employees and partners from around Maryland to perform 100,000 acts of Kindness for 15 Maryland-based nonprofits.
After a morning ceremony hosted by Maryland State Comptroller Peter Franchot, Volunteers gathered to mentor youth, write greeting cards, pack lunches, and care packages, and build skateboards for children in foster care, among other things.
This event was a part of SECU’s “Kindness Connects” campaign, a month-long event where SECU encourages members, employees, and Maryland residents to perform acts of Kindness within their communities.
SECU has also committed to donating $26,000 worth of supplies to local community schools, food banks, and veterans as part of its Kindness Connects campaign.
