Baltimore County Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Date And Details
TOWSON - Baltimore County will be hosting its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 2, at 6 p.m.
The event will take place in the heart of the downtown Towson shopping corridor at Olympic Park on the corner of York Road and Allegheny Avenue in front of the Fidelity Building.
Nancy Hafford, Executive Director of the Towson Chamber of Commerce, released a statement detailing the event’s offerings.
“This downtown Towson location helps remind people of the benefits of shopping in Baltimore County’s historic neighborhood shopping districts – especially for the holidays. Participating retail shops and restaurants in the core area will be offering specials, holiday sales, and discounts during the evening and encouraging people to Shop Towson and around Baltimore County for the Holidays,” Hafford said.
Baltimore County Fire Department will usher Santa and Mrs. Claus on their fire engine down Allegheny Avenue, where they will sit and meet with children to hear their gift requests. Parents should bring their own cameras if they’d like photos of their children on Santa’s lap.
County Administrative Officer Stacy Rogers, members of the Baltimore County Council, Rosedale Federal, and the Towson Chamber of Commerce will help lead the festivities.
The event is co-sponsored by the Towson Chamber of Commerce, County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Rosedale Federal Savings and Loan, Lite 101.9, and the Baltimore County Council. Immaculate Conception School and the Gold Star Marching Band will provide holiday music and entertainment. Local restaurants will be providing hot chocolate and snacks.
