Towson Shooting Prompts "Targeted Incident" Investigation

TOWSON - The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting in Towson as a potential "targeted incident."

According to police, around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, an officer was in Towsontown Blvd and Washington Avenue area when they heard multiple gunshots and watched as a vehicle drive past before crashing.

Police said officers approached the vehicle and found an adult male driver suffering from "at least one" gunshot wound.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Detectives later determined the victim was shot by an unknown suspect(s) at Chesapeake & Washington Avenue intersection.

On Monday, Baltimore County detectives filed criminal charges against the apparent shooting victim. Police said detectives recovered a weapon inside the victim's vehicle and charged the individual with firearms violations.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit are investigating this case and believe this was a targeted incident. They ask anyone who may have information about this case to call 410-307-2020.
