BALTIMORE COUNTY - Baltimore County's performance in Friday night's annual senior all-star battle with Baltimore City has earned the county bragging rights for the following year.

The county won both the boy's and girl's matches. At Dunbar High School, the county boys outlasted the city 103-101, and in the girl's match, played at Baltimore Polytechnical Institute, the girls won 54-51.

In the girl's match, the county led 31-16 at halftime, but Baltimore City rallied and was down by only one point with 57 seconds remaining on the clock. In the game's final seconds, Hereford High School's Lauren Orner converted two free throws with six seconds left to give the County a 54-51 advantage.

Baltimore Polytechnical Institute student Taylor Addison missed a last-second three-pointer for the city, giving the County the victory.

Owings Mills forward Serafina Stubbs (7 points) was selected Most Valuable Player for Baltimore County.

In the boy's match, the County rallied in the second half to pull off the victory. The county boys were down 58-48 at the half before they went on a 34-18 tear in the third quarter to pull off the victory.

Parkville guard Caron Smith, who helped Parkville to its first state championship last weekend, scored 15 points and was selected as the County MVP.
