TOWSON - The popular salad chain Chopt will open its first Baltimore County location in Towson next month.
Chopt Creative Salad Co. plans to open a 2,200-square-foot restaurant in Towson's Dulaney Plaza at 806 Dulaney Valley Rd. on May 10.
The Baltimore Business Journal reports that the new location will have around 40 seats and hire 35 employees. The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Chopt is known for its diverse offering of dressings and customizable salads, and warm bowls. According to the Business Journals, the Towson location plans to use local produce and baked goods for its salads.
Kale from Richardson Farms in White Marsh, cabbages and jalapeƱo peppers from Parker Farms in Salisbury, apples from Colora Orchards in Colora, and sourdough bread from Lyon Bakery in Hyattsville will be available.
The restaurant will also host "Chopt Gives Day" on May 9 before the opening. Customers can purchase salads for 50% off online, and all proceeds will be donated to Next One Up, a Baltimore mentoring program for young men.
