TOWSON - Dogtopia, a nationwide dog daycare, boarding, and spa facility, has opened a new branch in Towson.
The new establishment, located at 1270 E Joppa Road, No. 200, will be inaugurated on August 26 with a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Towson Chamber of Commerce.
According to their website, Dogtopia is a women-led business directed by Heather Davis, a franchise veteran with over two decades of experience. The Towson location will feature spacious indoor playrooms with a climate-controlled HVAC system to maintain optimal temperatures and air quality. The facility is sanitized multiple times a day with a pet-friendly cleaner, and the flooring is made of compressed rubber designed to support joint and paw health.
Webcams have been installed in every playroom to keep pet parents connected to their furry children. This allows owners to check in on their pets throughout the day via any internet-connected device.
Dogtopia Towson is throwing a National Dog Day party as part of the grand opening. The celebration starts with the official ribbon cutting by the Towson Chamber of Commerce. Attendees can enjoy live music from the School of Rock Baltimore and catered meals from popular local eateries such as Papi's Tacos. A selection of boutique Californian wines by Cobden Wini and VGS will also be available.
Attendees can participate in several donation-based activities, with all proceeds going to the Dogtopia Foundation. These include a spin-the-wheel game offering a range of Dogtopia prizes such as free daycare and boarding, and the #MightyDogtopia Sweepstakes, where dog owners can share their pet's "superpower" for a chance to win a trip for four to Los Angeles to attend the premiere of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie on September 16.
