BALTIMORE COUNTY - The Central Area Elementary School Capacity Relief Boundary Study Committee will host its inaugural meeting on Thursday.
The committee's primary objective is to assess boundary options to relieve projected overcrowding and to make the most efficient use of available space across 19 elementary schools in the central region.
The schools impacted by the study are:
Thursday's meeting will kick off a series of five committee gatherings and two public information sessions to examine attendance zones and tackle overcrowding issues in elementary schools.
The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology cafeteria at 938 York Road in Towson.
Future committee meetings will continue on Thursdays at the Carver Center from 6-8:30 p.m. on October 12, November 2, January 4, and January 25.
The public information sessions, designed to present data and solicit public feedback, will be held on Wednesday, November 15, at Cockeysville Middle School and Thursday, November 16, at Loch Raven High School, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Baltimore County Public Schools is also currently conducting a review of elementary school attendance boundaries in the Northwest part of the county.
