Greene Turtle Of Towson Joins Maryland's Growing List Of Licensed Sports Betting Locations
TOWSON - Maryland welcomed its 13th retail sports betting hub with the unveiling of a sportsbook at the Greene Turtle restaurant in Towson last week.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission has granted Canton Gaming, LLC, the Greene Turtle's operator, a sports wagering facility license.
Before its official opening on Sept. 25 and Sept. 27, the Greene Turtle location hosted controlled demonstrations where customers engaged in live betting. During these events, Maryland Lottery and Gaming staff verified the sportsbook's adherence to all mandatory protocols and the seamless operation of its systems.
According to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission, sports betting provided $25,258,639 to the Blueprint for Maryland's Future Fund in Fiscal Year 2023. An additional $2,091,753 from unclaimed sports betting rewards was allocated to the Maryland Problem Gambling Fund, endorsing responsible gambling initiatives, including complimentary local counseling services.
