Banditos Sets Opening Date For Towson Restaurant
TOWSON, MD — A restaurant specializing in Mexican street fare has set an opening date for its Towson location.
Banditos plans to welcome customers in early July and has a grand opening slated for July 9.
It will serve 20 kinds of tacos, including fan favorites like the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos and Dynamic Fish Tacos, among others that are made fresh daily, from salsa and guacamole to empanadas.
"Our ingredients are fresh, never frozen — our kitchens simply do not have microwaves or freezers," said Sean White, founder/CEO of White Oak Hospitality, which owns Banditos.
The restaurant on Allegheny Avenue is the fourth for Banditos, which has a presence in White Marsh, Federal Hill and Arlington, Va. Two others will come online in Columbia in late summer and early fall, while a Fairfax, Va., eatery is also expected to open this autumn.
For months, workers have been preparing the 7,500-square-foot site where Banditos will open in downtown Towson. It will span two levels and provide indoor and outdoor dining, with bars on the upper deck, officials said.
"Every attention to detail goes into Banditos, from our restaurant design and vibe to every single ingredient used in our kitchens," White said.
In addition to Mexican street fare, Banditos in Towson will specialize in spirits.
The Dito Rita, the restaurant's signature beverage, is a traditional Mexican margarita with fresh lime juice, organic agave, and Espolòn Blanco tequila. More than 70 brands of tequila and mezcal are on the drink menu, which officials say caters to the rising trend in agave-based spirits.
Banditos Tacos & Tequila will be at 31 Allegheny Avenue in the space where Cafe Troia used to be.
