FREE Introductory Acting Class for Military Veterans

The Studio at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company presents a FREE workshop for veterans of U.S. military service. Absolutely anyone who are veterans of the United States armed forces are welcome, as well as current service members - active or reserves.

Working with CSC Teaching Artists who are fellow veterans, students will learn basic techniques of acting, and explore materials from several of Shakespeare’s plays for personal connections. This ten-week program will train students to understand the basics of character creation, objective, voice and movement, improvisation, and performance; and will explore various texts for meaning and personal connections. Scene study and monologue work both included.  The course will culminate in a performance for friends, family, and invited guests.  No auditions required, no experience necessary!

Open only to U.S. military veterans and servicemembers (active duty, reserve, veterans).
